SPORTLIGH AND PERSONALITY PROFILE WITH AMADU MOHAMMED YAKUBU

 *Amadu Mohammed Yakubu* 


 *INTRODUCTION* 



He was born on 16th October 1997, at Yendi in the Northern Region of Ghana. He is second born of his 3 siblings and he is currently a final year level 300 Registered General Nursing student in Nursing And Midwifery Training College- Kpembe, He is a motivation speaker, Conseller, He likes teamwork, He is opened to contractive criticism, A student politicians and Youth Activist and He is passionate by helping others to gain knowledge on entrepreneurship, community development and growth. 


EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

 

he had his his basic Education at Sabare D/ A primary School where he was understand traditional training and later proceeded to Happy Home JHS in Tamale ( private school), he completed as both best student in mathematics and  best student in BECE  in the school.  ( 2005 - 2011) 


He gained admission into Ghana Senior High School ( Ghanasco) as a Business Student but later joined General Science Department in his second year all in the name to work in the health sector. ( 2014- 2017) 


After high school, he represented Ghana ( Northern region) in 4 different countries ( Ivory coast,Togo, Burkina Faso and Nigeria) to acquired knowledge on entrepreneurship in fact he learned a lot there, they also trained them on leadership skills and he has transformed that knowledge acquired there to a lot of people down north here, he is admired by a lot of young men and he has also inspired a lot of young men to developed interest in to entrepreneurship.


After the training ( Entrepreneurship) he joined M M Awal  September 2017  Company and he was appointed by the CEO who happened to be his brother as the deputy manager to one of the company warehouse in tamale and 2018 January he became a full manager to that warehouse and in fact he demonstrated to everyone in the company is he not only hardworking but also very young brilliant man, he represented the company at the local level, regional level and at the national level  for quality training, he also represented the company in programs organized both government and NGO's, the company was awarded contract from government to supply school feeding to all SHS and his warehouse was in charge of that even though many officials doubted him that he can't do the Job because of his age then but he proved them wrong even though it wasn't easy convicting headmasters and mattress across the country but he met them and was able to convinced not less 80% to accept  the goods and that guarantee him to win young manager of the year in the company.  


In September 2018 he gained Admission into Nursing And Midwifery Training College and he is currently final year  level 300 student. In fact this Young man has lobby for not less 400 nurses and midwives to get  poster to their preferred places for the one Year mandatory National Service, he has Looby for not less 167 students get awarded by the Government nationwide district scholarship. he is student but known by people in high position due his level of competency,  he doesn't promise on things he can't do, before he promise you something then it means he is already 80%  done fulfilling it.


 *LEADERSHIP PROFILE* 


1.since he primary one till date, he has never been to any class without holding leadership position to an extend most his classmates and colleagues don't really know his name.

 *PROJECTS AND POLICY INITIATIVES* 


1. protecting the right and safeguarding the interest of every student nurses or midwife 


2.Promotion cooperation, understanding and friendship between and amount members within our great zone, others zone and groups outside GNMTA to raise the flag of GNMTA and earsily broadcast our union and take our zone to a level we all want our zone to get.


3.lobbying for trainees to get posters to their preferred places for the one year mandatory nation service 


4. Working to ensure Local GNMTA account get separated from institution account to enable Local GNMTA Executives  carry out projects on time.


5. lobbying to put all Local GNMTA Executives on Government nationwide district scholarship since they play a major role at the institutional level.


6. Training student nurses on how to do business while in school and how to start business after completion.

NMC SIGNED MoU WITH G- DNA

GHANAIAN-DIASPORA NURSING ALLIANCE (G-DNA) SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) WITH THE NURSING AND MIDWIFERY COUNCIL Ghanaian-Diaspora Nursing Alliance (G-DNA) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. The MOU will enable G-DNA to facilitate and support G-DNA members in the diaspora to contribute to advancing Nursing and Midwifery practice in Ghana. The intended purpose of the collaboration is to enhance and advance Nursing practice and to improve healthcare delivery outcomes in Ghana.  Prof. Yvonne Commodore-Mensah, President of the G-DNA and an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins Schools of Nursing and Public Health in Baltimore, in her address to the press, indicated that the G-DNA will mobilize Ghanaian Nurses trained abroad as well as those trained in Ghana and leaving abroad to give back to their mother country.
