*AN ANALOGY OF THE STATEMENT " FOLLOW- UP SYNDROME " IN NURSING AND MIDWIFERY EMPLOYMENT SETTING - A TURNING POINT OR AN  END POINT*

➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Just over the last decade,it appears that what the prophets wrote about the Noble Profession is becoming a reality or an  illusion.

It is undeniable fact that , the most developed world  never have everything in their disposal  , nevertheless their system keeps on getting better every day. The phrase "*follow up*" has become very popular and has pervaded many Social Media Platforms regarding Nurses and Midwives employment issues.  It has become a norm and nothing can be said without it . Going forward, follow me closely with the normalization process of the  "follow up syndrome" phrase .

*TRAINEES NURSES AND MIDWIVES*
In our society  today where  the wrong is often notice than goodnight has brought us where we are today.  Before nursing Trainees allowance will be paid,we have to make follow -up  . This is usually  done to draw the authorities attention to the fact that something has gone wrong.  It has to take  a cycle  before the right thing is done. I often become confuse and suspicious as to what is happening with our systems. Is that our systems are not working enough to identify those challegeges or is intentional ?   Do we always need to tell people to  do the right thing ?.  What happens if they are not told?.  The approach in which the government has adopted in paying nursing Trainees allowance has signal  a systemic failure and the need  for immediate response to restore sanity in the system. If you are a concern party  , you will notice that sometimes this  *Follow- up* syndrome  takes the forms of Press Releases, Vigils , Picketing and demonstrations   to get the attention of the authorities to address some petinent issue. Thank God we live in a country where constitutional democracy is up held.

To set the record straight   ,the nursing Trainees allowance has been on arrears for over 13 months and  all the necessary *follow ups*   has been made to draw these authorities attention to the   urgency of the situation but to no avail.   The problem we are told they are having is *TECHNICAL CHALLENGE*. 13 Months with this Challenge? Hmmm. The heaven they promised us is now a hell . Probably this write up may be a nother follow up on the 13 Months arrears allowance.  If they are no technicians at _the MOH to solve the "Technical Challenge" problem, then let's import them from the_ _developed countries_ .

*GRADUATE UNEMPLOYED NURSES AND MIDWIVES*

For the first time in our  country history ,we have a group or union called *GUNMA*. I guest if this was some where, the authorities could have dissolved such union with immediate employment. But what do we see ?.  They have Follow  all the due process involve in *follow- up*  syndrome but to no avail. Three years of chronic unemployment for these groups is something that we should not be entertaining with partisan Politics.  But regrettably ,it is very sad to still find members of this domain having Pro and contra among themselves . For these particular Group ,I may argue that *Follow - up*  may  not be  their remedy again.  Probably they need  something better.

Let's all join hands in finding an appropriate remedy for they have exhausted what they can to get the right thing done ,and still trying. May God be their helper .

Following the above scenario, one could notice that something  might went wrong.  What could that be ? Let's leave it to the expertise to debate . We all need put all hands on deck  to discover an alternative way of bridging the follow up syndrome  in the current dispensation.

Nurses and Midwives live matter .
Nurses and Midwives deserve better
TRAINEES NURSES AND MIDWIVES DESERVE BETTER.

Our duty is to break the systemic cycle that has failed us over the last decade.

But I personally encourage you to read, share and suggest remedies.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS. THE AFRICAN CASE .

THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS : THE AFRICAN CASE  Brookings Institute reports that 70 percent of Sub-Saharan Africa’s population is under 30, representing about 743 million of 1,061 billion people in this region. These statistics represent a robust workforce, also known as the “cheetah generation”, a new and angry generation of young African graduates and professionals who can take up leadership roles from communities to the national level, and look at African issues and problems from a different perspective. We, the next generation of African leaders, should exhibit three characteristics. Firstly, we must be able to lead ourselves. Leadership is a way of being, not a position or job title. To become great leaders, we must develop a sense of who we are, what we can do, and where we are going. Coupled with this, we must embrace failure, build resilience, develop emotional mastery, and be lifelong learners.  Secondly, we must understand how to lead others. To be able to engage, motivat
